The objective of this study was to analyze the O'Sullivan Test for screening patients with gestational diabetes mellitus at the La Trinidad Teaching Medical Center. A descriptive, observational, retrospective cohort study was conducted. The average maternal age was 33.5 ± 4.64 years, with the 30-39 age group representing 70%. Most of the patients were primigravidas, making up 40% of the sample. The average gestational age at obstetric resolution was 39 ± 1 weeks, with the most common mode of delivery being cesarean section (70%). The average BMI was 27.97 ± 4.56 kg/m², with 43.33% of patients classified as overweight, making it an important risk factor for the development of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). The frequency of GDM at CMDLT was 0.46%. Additionally, 20% of patients experienced premature rupture of membranes. The sensitivity of the O'Sullivan Test was 100% (95% CI from 46.3% to 100%) and the specificity was 96% (95% CI from 93.6% to 97.1%). It was determined that the incidence of GDM was 0.46%, and the O'Sullivan Test demonstrated 100% sensitivity and 96% specificity, making it a precise and reliable test for diagnosing GDM.
