During the course of life, the oral cavity undergoes a series of changes and deteriorations, which, thanks to the advancement of technology, the development of new techniques and innovation in dental materials, have made it possible to obtain increasingly favorable results. Background: Previously, in prosthodontics, rehabilitations with artificial gum were not used since initially, they only intended to cover the loss of hard tissues, omitting the soft ones. Purpose: The objective of the present study is to systematically analyze the existing literature to select the ideal material and achieve pink aesthetics in fixed prostheses. Materials and Methods: electronic search in the databases: PubMed, Scielo and Google Academic. Results: 714 articles were identified through the electronic search, 357 articles were discarded because they were published more than 10 years ago, 38 were excluded because they were duplicates, 225 because of titles and 4 other languages, which were neither English nor Spanish. 51 studies were evaluated, where 18 were discarded by summary for different reasons, 33 articles were chosen for full text reading and 19 were discarded due to inconclusive results. Leaving 7 articles included for the systematic review. Conclusions: In the field of prosthodontics, there are many materials that provide different benefits to achieve pink aesthetics in fixed prostheses. However, the final decision lies in the hands of the professional according to the individualization of each clinical case.
