Abstract

Several studies expose the advantages of the use of microfragmented adipose tissue injected directly into the knee joint represents a safe and powerfully effective treatment option for knee pain patients suffering from osteoarthritis. Objective: To verify the clinical efficacy of the use of regenerative therapy with intra-articular microfragmented adipose tissue in patients with knee joint pathology. Methodology: descriptive and analytical study; longitudinal, prospective, field. The sample was of a deliberate non-probabilistic type and of volunteers made up of 69 patients (94 knees). The patient was questioned and the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and Lysholm were applied as functional scales. Results: mean age was 55.22 years ± 1.76; The most frequent sex was female with 53.62%; The most affected knee was the left (39.13%= 27 cases). At the time prior to treatment, the average EVA was 6.49 ± 0.24, which gradually decreased until registering the lowest average in the sixth month. Like the Lysholm scale of 63.28 points ± 1.67 pre-treatment, until registering the highest average in the sixth month. A statistically significant difference was found between the percentage of mild pain from the pre to the third month after (Z=24.58; P=0.0001 < 0.05) as well as the functionalism from the previous moment to the third month. after treatment (Z=6.26; P=0.0001 < 0.05). Conclusion: the clinical efficacy of regenerative therapy with intra-articular microfragmented adipose tissue in patients with knee joint pathology is demonstrated.
