Abstract

Anterior cruciate ligament rupture is one of the most common injuries in young adults and therefore its effective reconstruction is considered vital to reduce residual instability, especially residual one, which is why anterolateral ligament reconstruction is on the rise. Objective: to determine the effectiveness of anterolateral ligament reconstruction in patients with anterior cruciate ligament injury who are treated in the Knee Unit of the La Trinidad Teaching Medical Center from January 2020 to July 2022. Methodology: analytical observational study of cases and type II or binomial controls of factorial distribution with pairing, prospective timeless. Results: In the data obtained in this study, it was observed that the sample in the four groups was homogeneous with similar results in both descriptive variables and risk factors. In the Lysholm scale score Contrasting the aforementioned results, a difference was evidenced between all the measurements, especially the 6-month one, where there was an improvement between cases and controls in more than 10 points in the group where the anterolateral ligament reconstruction was performed with Student's T with a significance level (p< 0.05). Conclusion: the clinical effectiveness of anterolateral reconstruction in anterior cruciate ligament injuries is verified both clinically and with statistical significance.
