Evaluation of the quality of life in patients undergoing bariatric surgery in the CMDLT.

The obesityis a chronic desease, caracterized by the augment of the body fat, asociated to a higher health risk. The bariatric surgery is currently the most efficient strategy to reach a significant and sustainable weight loss, solving comorbidities and reducing the long term mortality. The impact that it might have on bariatric surgery patients in relation to their quality of life is unknow. Objectives: review the cuality of life on bariatric surgery patients on the service of general surgery of the CMDLT. Method: retrospective study, observational, cohort analitic. Applied to people with obesity, with life cuality scales SF 36 y BAROS. This allow us to review weight loss, medical conditions improvement and life cuality. The data was collected by phone calls and medical history review. All information is subtracted in an excel 2019 sheet and analyzed in Epi-info 3.5.1. Results: the sample was constituted by 19 patients, 14 female (73,7%) and 5 male (26,3%) all of them were subjected to a bariatric surgery and attended by the general surgery service of CMDLT in the last 10 years. Conclusion: bariatric surgery helps patients to maintain a good physical condition, mental and sexual health, conclusion that we can appreciate by the application of SF 36 and BAROS life scales.
