Pituitary tumors represent the most frequent form of intracranial tumor in 14.7% of cases. As in other organs, the excessive and uncontrolled proliferation of the are of a monoclonal origin, predominantly benign and slow growing, but which can have significant morbidity and even premature mortality. Therefore, there is a problem that revolves around this pathology, where pituitary tumors and associated neuroendocrine disorders can represent a significant challenge, due to the complexity of the diagnostic approach and therapeutic management in a timely manner, therefore, it is important to implement tools that allow recording the behavior of these patients to improve approach strategies. With the aim of characterizing this entity, an epidemiological registry of Pituitary Tumors of the Endocrinology Service of the La Trinidad 2017-2020 Teaching Medical Center is carried out; Thus, a descriptive and retrospective study was structured of patients diagnosed with pituitary tumors who attended the center. The total population was 109 patients, within which differences were established between the different types of tumors, finding the following distribution: non-functioning 51%, prolactinomas 27%, Cushing's disease 11%, chromegaly 10% 2 and craniopharyngioma 1% ; results that differ from other authors in terms of frequency and age groups involved, but with similar clinical characteristics. Therefore, the importance of pituitary tumor registry systems is highlighted, which represent a novel clinical resource, which allow the analysis of data extracted from medical records in order to create institutional strategies that optimize the diagnostic and therapeutic approach, based on the individual demands of these patients.
