Abstract

The present study proposes to apply gamification as a digital educational resource (RED) within the teaching-learning process and formative self-evaluation in the study of neurological clinical criteria, motivating the user to deepen their study, constituting an e-learning learning modality. The study was carried out at the La Trinidad Teaching Medical Center (CMDLT), period from March to November 2021 and was applied to residents of the Hospital Medicine Assistance Residency (RAMH) program in 2021. General objective: Implement the resource of Gamification as a learning strategy and formative self-evaluation for the study of neurological clinical criteria, applied to resident doctors of the RAMH 2021 program of the CMDLT. The feasible project type study and application level. Three surveys were carried out, the first one where 7 were chosen from the 11 proposed neurological topics, the second and the third containing 21 questions about the topics and among them gamification was applied as RED. Results: Participation decreased in the phases of the project: from 21 participants in form 2 to 6, due to various factors, however, there was an increase in the percentage of correct answers of 85.7% according to the 21 questions, being 50 % a percentage between 16 and 30% improvement per response. Conclusions: The implementation of RED as Gamification within the learning process in medicine currently plays an important role, improving the educational level and skills in the clinical-diagnostic management of the patient.
